NFL Weekly Picks Preview for Week 1: Denver @ Jacksonville
Written by Jimmy Reilly on 09/10/2010 – 8:49 am -NFL Weekly Picks insider reports that Denver started last season with guns-a-blazing going 6-0 but the Broncos quickly went downhill. Many attributed rookie head coach Josh McDaniel’s lack of social maturity as perhaps the driving force behind the obvious lack of respect among players that contributed the team’s slide.
NFL PICKS LOOK INSIDE THE NUMBER
Compounding the problem was WR Brandon Marshall’s attitude. Nonetheless, this season is already different with the absence of Marshall and the 1st round draft hype of rookie QB Tim Tebow (who was less than impressive in the preseason.) While Kyle Orton is the starter and has looked good in preseason, the backup has not been announced but our sources say that Tebow will get the nod over Brady Quinn.
Both teams had disappointing seasons last year; however Jacksonville will ride Maurice Drew on offense as he had 1,765 yards and 16 touchdowns last year. Jacksonville will struggle if they get behind and David Garrard has to use his inaccurate arm.

NFL PICKS FOR WEEK 1
Written by Jimmy Reilly on 09/09/2010 – 10:09 am -NFL Weekly Picks
Resuming my analysis of the NFL weekly picks for week one, there are a number of divisional match-ups. I already mentioned San Diego at Kansas City. Of the rest, Detroit at Chicago, Miami at Buffalo, Arizona at St. Louis, and San Francisco at Seattle represent early important divisional games this season.
NFL PICKS FOR SUNDAY, SEPT 12th
While the Bears seem to be the obvious NFL weekly pick versus the perennially hapless Lions, the emergence of QB Matthew Stafford, RB Kevin Smith, and WR Calvin Johnson has injected some new life into the team. Coupled with Chicago’s Jay Cutler’s increasing propensity to throw interceptions—he tossed 27 TDs and 26 INTs in 2009—the Lions’ defense may have ample opportunity to seize control of this game and shock the “experts” who have Chicago favored by 6.5 points.

NFL Weekly Picks Preview: Minnesota vs. Saints Thursday, Sept 9th 8:30PM EST
Written by Jimmy Reilly on 09/08/2010 – 6:20 am -NFL Weekly Picks
Now that the “real” football season is almost underway (because who really cares about preseason anyway?) NFL fans involved in workplace pools are eager to assess their skills in selecting their NFL weekly picks for week one.
A much-anticipated match-up is Thursday night’s Minnesota at New Orleans which is a rematch of last season’s NFC championship game and the return of the almost 41-year old” Brett Favre.
The experts are picking the Vikings to upset as they are a four-point underdog to the Super Bowl champions. WR Sidney Rice’s 6-game injury-sidelined status and the beating Favre took in the NFC Championship game will likely relegate the Vikings to establish the running game looking toward RB Adrian Peterson to carry the offense.
One concern about Peterson is his propensity for fumbling which is something for which he claims he has found a cure. Since his debut in 2007, Peterson leads the league in fumbles with 20; of these he has lost 13. Perhaps his most troubling game is the aforementioned NFC championship game in which Peterson rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns; however, he also fumbled twice and missed a handoff from Favre.

“NFL Weekly Picks ATS for Week 1”
Written by Jimmy Reilly on 09/07/2010 – 9:04 am -Well, it’s that time of the year again—time for football fans to scour the Internet looking for news related to NFL weekly picks. Week 1 is difficult, indeed, due to myriad uncertainties about team cohesion in a rapidly-growing free agent world. Preseason is not a good indicator of regular season prowess which complicates matters.
When looking at popular NFL weekly picks for week 1 there are a number of surprises, at least to me. Take Atlanta at Pittsburgh, for one. The Falcons are a 2.5 point favorite against the perennial playoff-bound Steelers. I find it hard to believe that Ben Roethlisberger’s four-game suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy—which was reduced from the original six games—is the driving force behind the Steelers’ underdog status at home. Perhaps backup Byron Leftwich’s injury which has relegated Dennis Dixon as the starting QB for Pittsburgh has provided the impetus for the betting line. While Matt Ryan is rapidly becoming an elite QB with a slue of weapons, doubts still remain as to whether Atlanta can beat the Steelers at home. Just look at the Chargers’ history in Pittsburgh the past few seasons when they have clearly been the better team but lost to the Steelers at Three Rivers.

Top NFL Picks to Watch for the Start of the 2010 Season
Written by Jimmy Reilly on 09/06/2010 – 9:10 am -Last season witnessed the mediocrity of several teams. Although improvements are expected in these teams, they are not among the top NFL picks that will prove to be a massive threat in this upcoming season. A step up in Tampa Bay’s defense in expected, however, in reality a team possessing a previous season track record of 3-13 cannot miraculously bounce back for a super bowl. At least it is a long shot. The Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Detroit Lions are also among the NFL picks that are anticipated to improve. But the question is: will the improvement be enough? After all, they are not the only teams that have made preseason acquisitions and trades. They are the only team that wants to improve.

Find Out How Big Ben’s 4-Game Suspension Will Affect Your NFL Weekly Picks
Written by Jimmy Reilly on 09/05/2010 – 9:03 am -Take note Fantasy Footballers – when you’re making your NFL weekly picks to put in your lineup; you’ll now have Ben Roethlisberger two weeks sooner.
The Steelers quarterback learned on Friday that his six-game suspension has been reduced by two games. Big Ben was originally ordered to sit for violating the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced for the second straight offseason. The suspension reduction is contingent on Roethlisberger staying out of trouble and staying on his league-sanctioned program.
“You have told me & the Steelers that you committed to making better decisions,” Commissioner Roger Goodell told Roethlisberger in a statement released via Twitter by league spokesman Greg Aiello. “Your actions over the past several months have been consistent with that promise and you must continue to honor that commitment.”
For Steelers fans and fantasy football owners, the good news is that there is a now a definite date when for Big Ben’s return to the field. It also means that for Cleveland Browns fans, there’s bad news. That return date is October 17th against your team.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys – Playoff Pick
Written by Jimmy Reilly on 01/06/2010 – 7:34 am -
Before making your bet, a expert handicapper will understand that NFL Playoff teams make the Playoffs based on their body of work through the entire NFL season.
Expert Handicapping betting information for making your NFL Pick with Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys (Kickoff will be 8 p.m. ET Saturday night. NFC REMATCH)
Before betting this NFL Wildcard matchup this Saturday between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys, an expert handicapper will understand that NFL Playoff teams make the Playoffs based on their body of work through the entire NFL season.
The recap of the last game must be a part of your expert handicapping due-diligence (such as sport injuries), but understand that that is just one game. We see Dallas has the handicapping edge here as they have won the only two matchups this season but an expert handicapper would have to evaluate some important phases of the game.
